About Mrs. Goetz

My name is Carrie Goetz. I am so happy to be here at Villa Academy teaching kindergarten. It is my 6th year here and my 15th year teaching.

I come to Villa Academy from Perkins Preschool and Seattle Public Schools. I taught a preschool/kindergarten class at Perkins for five years. Before that I taught 1st grade at View Ridge Elementary.

I graduated from Central Washington University in 2001 with B.A. in Elementary Education K-8, including endorsements in Gifted Education K-8, Special Education K-12, and Spanish language 5-12. My junior year I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Spain (Sevilla) for 6 months. In 2010, I completed my Professional Certification at the University of Washington.

My husband and I just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary in August. We live in the Ravenna neighborhood. We have two children: Alivia (14) and Jacob (12). Alivia and Jacob go to Assumption-St. Bridget and are in 8th and 6th grade. We also have a Labradoodle named Roxy. Between teaching, soccer, dance, church, skiing and family we stay busy. We wouldn’t have it any other way!

I grew up here in Seattle and attended both Eckstein and Nathan Hale. I enjoy (besides time with family) reading, traveling, skiing, hiking, Barre classes, yoga, and cooking healthy food.
